General Questions

We are open 7 days a week from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a last admission time of 5:15 p.m.   

We are closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas Days.

Both the Aquarium and the Rainforest are included in the same day pass ticket.

For the safety of our animals only certified service animals are allowed in our facility.  Thank you for your understanding.

Our guests on average spend 1.5 to 2 hours in our facility.  In addition to all of our animals, we have an Educational Presentation, Interactive Sandbox, Draw Alive, Virtual Reality Experiences (additional costs may apply), and much more.  It is a self-guided tour, so each person’s visit will differ.

Yes! Just ask for a hand stamp on your way out!

Yes!  In fact we encourage it.  We just ask for no flash photography.  If you take a cute picture that you wish to share, please send it to us for a chance to be featured on our social media or website at Events@DaytonaAquariumandRainforest.com.

Late summer, fall, and early winter are the LEAST busy times at the Aquarium.  Afternoons are always the best time to visit if you’re looking to avoid large crowds, such as school groups.  During the school year, our visiting school groups are typically gone by 2 p.m.

The MOST popular days are when school is not in session, such as holidays:

Yes!  Parking is free and available right in front of the aquarium entrance.  

All areas of the Daytona Aquarium and Rainforest Adventure are fully indoors and are climate controlled.  

We currently do not offer guided or behind the scenes tours.  We plan to offer them in the future, but do not have a set date for when they will be available.

We have over 1,500 animals representing over 350 species, including highly endangered species.  At the Daytona Aquarium and Rainforest Adventure you will find amphibians, birds, fish, mammals, and reptiles. 

To protect the health of our resident animals, we cannot accept any surrendered animals at this time.  We recommend contacting the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s 24-hour line at 888-404-3922 for a list of wildlife rehabilitators in your area. Or contact Animal Help Now for information on animal rehab specialists in your area.

To view and download your digital images, please visit: www.fotofx.org.  Select Daytona Aquarium and Rainforest Adventure.  Enter the date of your visit and the 5-digit ID number found at the bottom of your photo receipt.  They must be redeemed within 90 days of your visit.  For help email help@fotofxonline.com or call 629-899-7946.  

Guests who lose an item during their visit can stop by the Admissions Counter in the Lobby during operating hours to see if their item has been turned in or can call at 386-241-3144 to see if you item has been located.  

The following is a list of prohibited items at the Daytona Aquarium and Rainforest Adventure.

  • Weapons of any kind or objects that appear to be weapons, including firearms, ammunition, fireworks, water grenades (metal or plastic), knives, and pocket knives
  • Alcoholic beverages of any type.
  • Pepper spray/mace.
  • Recreational devices with wheels, such as skateboards, hoverboards, balance boards, scooters, inline skates, or shoes with built-in wheels.
  • Wheeled mobility: Devices with less than three (3) wheels; devices that cannot maintain stability and balance when stopped, unpowered, or unoccupied, training wheels or similar modifications; devices powered by any means other than manually or electrically; devices that travel faster than walking pace; multi-rider devices or devices that exceed 36 inches in width or 52 inches in length.
  • Pets or other animals, except for approved service animals (e.g., dogs); service animals must be under the owner’s control at all times and should remain on a leash or harness. Due to the nature of some attractions, service animals may not be permitted to ride or enter certain attractions.
  • Smoking, vaping, or using marijuana or tobacco products in any form, including electronic cigarettes, is prohibited on Aquarium property.
  • Any other items the Aquarium determines may be suspicious, harmful, unsafe or disruptive.

Tickets & Discounts

Yes!  We offer $2 off Florida Resident discounted day passes in person at our admissions counter.  To redeem this discount, all you need to show is a valid Florida Driver’s License.  We also offer Senior, College Student, Military, and First Responder discounted day passes.  These discounts are only available on day passes, not in our gift shop.

 

SNAP, WIC, and EBT discounts are only available on select days.  Please check our Upcoming Events tab or our Facebook page to see if there is one soon.

Gift cards cannot be used toward online purchases. Tickets must be purchased in person at the admissions counter to use a gift card.

No, the Daytona Aquarium and Rainforest Adventure does not have reciprocity with any other facility.

Memberships

Memberships can be purchased online, over the phone at 386-241-3144, or in person at the admission counter during your next visit.  We offer a $5 discount on Memberships purchased online.

Yes.

Memberships are only valid for a single, designated pass holder. When you purchase your Membership, you will be asked to take a photo. Memberships are non-transferable, and only one person is named to each Membership.

At this time, the Daytona Aquarium and Rainforest Adventure does not offer any family membership options.

Your membership expires 365 days from the date of purchase.  You can renew your membership either online, or in person at our admissions counter.

The only days that you cannot use your membership are Thanksgiving and Christmas when the aquarium is closed.

What we Offer

We have 2 interactive touch tanks, Ray Bay and our Touch Pool.   We offer stingray feeding for only $5 per cup.  These cups are available in limited quantities throughout the day.  Please check in at the admissions counter when you arrive for availability. 

We also host 4 educational presentations throughout the day at 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m.  At one of these 30 minute educational presentations you will learn about a few different animals and can touch the last one.  Each one is different, so be sure to watch them all!

 

We do plan to offer lorikeet feedings and Sloth Interactions in the future, but do not have a set date for when this will be available. 

We are excited to have Virtual Reality for you all to experience!  With VR, you can get up close with majestic creatures like sharks, whales, and manta rays—all without getting wet.  These videos are shot with an Action Camera, that makes you feel like you’re actually underwater, surrounded by the wonders of the ocean.  VR experiences are perfect for anyone who loves marine life or wants to learn more about the underwater world in a fun and engaging way.  

We currently have 9 different options to choose from, Shark Dive, Swimming with Humpbacks, Flight of the Manta, A Mermaid’s Quest, Legend of Lusca, Dolphins of the Reef, Gorilla Trek, Dinosaur Evolution, and Thrill Coaster.

We host scheduled feedings on the weekends, as they are our busiest days.  If you visit us during the week, ask one of our team members if any of our animals are eating when you visit.  

 

Our Scheduled Feedings:

12:00pm – Shark Reef Feeding

1:00pm – Asian Water Monitor Feeding

1:30pm – River Monster Feeding

3:30pm – American Alligator Feeding

Food and Beverage

No outside food or beverages are allowed in the Aquarium.  There are vending machines with small snacks available as well as the opportunity to buy various drinks that include beer and wine.

Our cafe area is currently under construction.  We do have a seating area available and Marcos pizza menus on the tables.  They are able to deliver pizza to the admission counter for you to pick up.

Accessibility

We have 1 courtesy wheelchair that is available on a first come first serve basis.

Yes, we do allow certified service animals in our facility.  However, for the health and safety of our rainforest animals service animals are restricted from entering the rainforest section.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Service animals can be restricted from areas where the animals on display are the natural prey or natural predators of dogs, where the presence of a dog would be disruptive, causing the displayed animals to behave aggressively or become agitated.
